We are chuffed to be putting on big smugglers favourites, The Evil Usses' Kent tour date. From the experimental Bristol collective bloom, The Evil Usses are beautifully wonky and wonderfully eccentric.
With support from Run Logan Run. Taking cues from the British Punk Jazz scene and utilising extended breathing techniques and special FX (championed by players such as Mats Gustafson and Colin Stetson), Run Logan Run create music that is both beautiful and brutal.
They are currently working on their debut album, which is being produced by members of The Comet Is Coming.
..... live in the amazing basement of coffee/ record shop/ hair salon cliffs, this will be a banger. Tickets £5 in adv, £7 on door from Cliffs/ Smugglers Records or online here....
Fierce and uncompromising"
"Bristol based four-piece that play, as they describe, ‘jazzy notrock, post-op pop’. Through wildly chaotic sax solos and spasmodic guitar bursts, The Evil Usses are a band full of sensory passion and provocation."
- Bristol Live Magazine
"Their music has an easy-loping ponderousness that breathes easily... slipping incongruous grooves over one other, letting the structure slip apart and realign, especially when boiling drumming meets threatening bass."
